The Sims Movie still in development?

Remember when EA announced a movie for The Sims in 2008? Well we haven’t had much news about it since then but according to IMDb (The Internet Movie Database) it still is in development. The page does now state a 2015 release, which previously stated a 2012 one. A section of the page does state that since 2nd January 2012 the development status is “unknown”. Will it ever be released or just eventually forgotten?
